“The Wilderness Society in the 21st Century: New Concepts of Wilderness, Wildness, Inclusion and Belonging.”

In a week’s time (Thursday, October 24 at 6:30 PM), we’ll be hosting an amazing speaker – Dr. Alexandra Sutton Lawrence, the South-East Regional Program Director of The Wilderness Society who’s talk shall be “The Wilderness Society in the 21st Century: New Concepts of Wilderness, Wildness, Inclusion and Belonging.”

The presentation will detail our increasing focus on the relationship between people and landscape – especially between marginalized people and wild places. She will describe the pairing of the work of The Wilderness Society Landscape Initiative with that of folks like herself, and talk about how that shapes our vision for wilderness in the 21st Century.

The event will take place at the Center for the Environment at Catawba College Room 300. It is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Click on the link to register: http://www.catawba.edu/wilderness21
