Frequently Asked Questions About the National Environmental Summit

Anyone who will be 14-17 at the time of the Summit is eligible to apply.

At the Summit, you will learn critical thinking skills, dive into your individual interests, work with environmental leaders, build relationships with like-minded individuals, explore our 189-acre ecological preserve and more!

Yes, the cost of the Summit is $490. If you apply before May 1st you automatically recieve $90 off. There is additional financial assistance available. Learn more

Participants will live in Abernethy Hall, a LEED certified residence hall on the campus of Catawba College. These are not co-ed dorms. There will be 4 people to a suite/apartment with a shared common room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and 4 individual bedrooms.

Absolutely not! The Summit is for students who want to make a positive impact on the world and learn how to become environmental leaders, not just those interested in going into environmental science. Many of our alumni have gone into fields like political science, design, business, chemistry, and more. The skills you learn and connections that you will make will benefit you in whatever career you choose.
