North Carolina One of Top States for Solar Energy

North Carolina has been ranked among the Top 10 statesin the nation for solar energy, according to the 2014 Solar Market Insight Report.
The Solar Energy Industry Association and Boston-based GTM Research recently released this information:
- The state ranked eighth for the number of solar jobs in the state, with 5,900.
- It was ninth on solar capacity per capita with 88 watts for each resident.
- North Carolina ranked fourth for cumulative solar capacity built over 2014, with 953 megawatts.
- Finally, it was eighth for the percentage of new electric energy capacity that came from solar, with 86 percent.
